January 2, 2015 Verse of the Day

Good morning to everyone! I sincerely hope that you had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year! I'm so sorry I did not get around to writing yesterday- I was away from my computer all day long!

After staying up all night on Wednesday night to countdown into the New Year (and share a New Year's kiss!), my husband and I spent most of the day with my mom and brother. It was a nice visit. Since she lives out in the country, I was able to get some target practice in with my pistol. I'm so thankful that (at least for now) we still have the right to bear arms. I did grow up in a home where guns were shunned....and now, I personally own three. I am very proud to say that if it comes down to it, I can protect my family.

This year, I want to take some time each day to bring you a little bit of encouragement from the Scriptures. I will be posting a Bible Verse every day along with some personal words about how the verse is speaking to me. I will be finding these verses on Verse of the Day. Go check them out if you have the opportunity! What a great site!

This is one of those verses that I hold very close to my heart, especially in those times when I'm feeling so alone.

This is a new year- the old year is gone. We don't know exactly what lies ahead of us, but we are guaranteed one thing: there will be struggles. There will be times when we are fearful- maybe a cancer diagnosis, maybe an unplanned pregnancy- who knows? BUT did you know there's one more guarantee? God will  be there with us- right in the middle of our struggles! He will be there to catch us when we fall flat on our face and will brush us off with His tender compassion. He will be there to encourage us when we feel like we can't go on.

Whatever challenges we face- no matter how big they may seem to us- God is bigger. We can face our challenges with strength and courage because He is right there with us. The truth is- we know the end of the story- the war has been won. God will triumph over the evil one who is prowling around trying to tear us down.

This is something I'm going to strive to keep in my heart this year- I sincerely hope that you will too! Please, if you have prayer requests, post them below so that other Christian brothers and sisters can pray for you and with you! If it's something private, just write "unspoken"- God knows the need. If you want to, you may send me a private message.

With Love,

Krista

  1. If you'll add me to your prayer list - I started having absence seizures. We thought the brain tumour had returned, but nothing showed up on MRI. Now I can't drive, and with four children and a car and SUV that both seat 5, I can't go anywhere. So I'm praying that a) we find out what's causing the seizures and can fix it, and b) that we find an affordable minivan that will seat 6. Also, my husband's blood pressure has been getting scary high, which we think is related to his bipolar disorder. I'm scared of losing him to a heart attack - he's only 40.

    God bless you.

    1. Absolutely Marie! You and your family have my prayers! I pray for your husband's blood pressure and pray that the doctors will be able to figure out what is causing your seizures and can treat them! God bless you and your family!
