January 3, 2015 Verse of the Day

As Christians, we need to be living by faith, not by sight. God is there, even when we can't see or feel his presence, He's always there- His word says so. Today's verse brings to mind the "Footprints" poem.

One night, I had a dream....

I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord, and across the sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand. One belonged to me and the other to the Lord. When the last scene of my life flashed before us, I looked back at the footprints in the sand. I noticed that many times along the path of my life, there was only one set of footprints.

I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in my life. This really bothered me, and I questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, You would walk with me all the way, but I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why in times when I needed you the most, you should leave me.

The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child. I love you and I would never, never leave you during your times of trial and suffering. When you saw only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

Last night was one of those nights when I felt alone. No matter what I did, I couldn't get comfortable. My mind was running in a million different directions and I couldn't shut it off. However, the truth is, all I had to do was turn to God- He was there the whole time, waiting to pick me up into His loving arms. Tonight, I will keep this in mind as I go to bed. I will let God hold me and soothe my mind tonight. I pray that you can do the same.

Please, as always, if you have any prayer requests that you'd like to share so me and others can pray for you, leave them in the comments. If you have one that you don't want to share, but still want others to pray for, leave a comment saying "unspoken"- God knows your needs. If you want to send me a private message, you're welcome to do that as well.

With Love,

Krista
