New Beginnings....
Hi everyone!! My name is Krista Mounsey and this is the beginning of a new journey for me. I am so excited about what God has planned for me. This is definitely a leap of faith God has led me to write this blog and to bring His Word- and fun beauty tips- to all you beautiful ladies out there. I am so full this morning, I am overflowing! First, let me tell you a little bit of my story....
I was always taught that God doesn't always give us billboards with His messages and He doesn't always hit us over the head. Most often, He speaks to us in the quiet stillness. For some of us, that's taking an evening stroll and seeing a beautiful sunset (or a morning stroll and watching the sun rise). For others, it's the laughter of a small child. There are so many "God moments" all around us- we just have to keep our mouths shut and our eyes and ears open to see and listen.
I was born and raised Southern Baptist. For many years, I was in the church basically every single time the doors were open. I went to Sunday School and worship service on Sunday mornings. On Sunday nights, my family went to Bible Study and worship service. On Wednesday nights, my parents made sure I was there for children's activities- and when I was older, I participated in the youth group. If there was a revival going on, we attended most, if not all of the services. Even when I went to college, I still attended church every Sunday and other activities whenever I could.
Fast-forward a few years- I met the man who is now my husband. He and his family were Catholic. I was interested in learning more about the Catholic faith. I could see the love and peace in his family and longed for that same love and peace. So, I started attending Mass with he and his family on Sunday mornings. I wanted to know more. So, in the Fall of 2011, I started attending RCIA classes to learn more. Things started getting in the way and I dropped out. Still....I wanted to understand and have this love and peace that I was seeing and feeling from his family and others.
In the fall of 2012, I went back to RCIA- and this time, was able to complete the classes and came into full Communion with the Church Easter 2013. Then, in the Summer of 2013, I married my husband and we became a family with his three boys that I love with all my heart!
Now, I had the love and peace in my life that I had seen in so many others. Still, I desired to grow closer to Him. My husband and I were reading a daily devotional and the Psalms from the daily Mass, but it wasn't enough. I needed more.
Then, I was able to attend a retreat called "Cursillo de Christiandad" or, "A short course in Christianity." God definitely was working! That's where this blog....this "New Beginning" was born. See, I had been wanting to start my own blog- and had even started one or two- but never could really commit to it. I was thinking of starting one on January 1, 2015...but wasn't sure how or what to do. So- I prayed about it. This morning, on October 13, 2014, I woke up with a clear vision of what God is leading me to do.
I am praying that He will use this blog to HIS glory and honor. This is not me- this is all Him. I want all of you beautiful ladies out there to know that He does love you and He does have a plan for you- all you have to do is trust in Him.
With Love,
Krista

ReplyDeleteThank you sweetheart! I am so thankful that I am married to you- I am blessed beyond measure with your love and support and everything you are to me. To quote you- "You complete me" and I know it (even when I try to play the complete, independent woman). I love you sweetheart!
